How to wear: Brown
Rich coffee and chocolate tones are really making an impact in our collections this season. And after what feels like a long time with the absence of these gorgeous rich tones in our wardrobe, we're excited to have them back in everything from knitwear to denim.
We thought we'd put together a little piece showing you some of our favourite ways to style the colour of the season and incorporating it into your wardrobe with ease. Gone are the days of dark, dingy browns, this season welcomes the gorgeously rich tones of toffee, coffee, ginger and chocolate. Tones that help to give your complexion that warmth during the winter season, tones that evoke those feelings of autumn walks amongst the fallen leaves. We love these tones contrasted with creams and crisp whites for a fresh take on the look that gives you that luxury neutral toned look, but if you're looking for more colour you could be inspired by Marc Cain who has contrasted the tones with a beautifully rich teal, or style like American Vintage and add a vibrant red contrast.
Here's some of our favourite ways to wear brown this season, we hope you feel inspired taking a look!
A lighter nod to the trend, combining a soft taupe base with beautiful browns and hints of lilac in this fairisle print from Weekend MaxMara. We love this layered over a white shirt or over a knit of the same colour.
Cream doesn't have to disappear out of your wardrobe in winter. We love the luxe edge the combination of these cream cords and coffee tones of the cardigan here, both by Weekend MaxMara.
Adding teal into the caramel tones gives it a fresh edge. Tank from Marc Cain, shirt and cords by Weekend MaxMara.
A great layering piece to wear with brown tones, we love this MaxMara Weekend knit worn with their caramel toned cords.
Brown can be a great alternative for party season, we love the rich tones and print of this dress by Dea Kudibal. Wear as is, wear with opaque tights or layer over wide leg silk trousers.
Beautiful prints from Dea Kudibal.
Dea Kudibal is the Queen of versatile dresses, this beautiful printed dress mixes navy with caramel tones and looks just as fab layered with a fine knit underneath and boots as it does worn alone with heels.
Cream is such a beautiful combination with brown and the detail on this Dea Kudibal blouse is simply stunning. Team with a pair of wide leg brown trousers for a simple, elegant look.
Dea Kudibal knits always have that fantastic attention to detail. From the exaggerated sleeve shape to the beautiful buttons, this knit is a simple and easy way to bring a hint of this seasons 'it' colour to your wardrobe.
A silk shirt is the ultimate in luxury and an easy to reach for piece for evenings out. This rich chocolate tone (named ganache!) is a gorgeous twist on a dark colour and teams just as beautifully with browns as it does black.
Teaming this beautiful Dea Kudibal print with our new Seventy + Mochi jeans which are in the beautiful shade 'Cacao', a dark, chocolately brown that goes well with so many colours!
Dressing this beautiful tweed jacket from Dea Kudibal down for a more casual look, we've teamed with the rich tones of the Seventy + Mochi jeans and a great layering t-shirt from American Vintage.
If you need something to layer over all these brown outfits, then look no further than BRGN's new version of a classic trench, not only is it beautifully shaped, the perfect length and made with such attention to detail, it's also super practical as it is 100% waterproof!
Keeping it casual and cosy in rich textures, a neutral colour combination that oozes luxury with ease from American Vintage.
And here we've added a pop of colour to the outfit with this red and brown knit from American Vintage.
And last but by no means least, this faux shearling gilet from Pom Amsterdam is such a fab layering piece. We love how they combine darker tones with their signature bright prints and have both of these beautiful bright tops styled with the gilet in store right now!
